John William Wingfield was an Anglican priest: the Archdeacon of Bodmin from 1979〔Church news.The Times(London, England), Saturday, Nov 11, 1978; pg. 16; Issue 60456〕 to 1981. Born on 19 December 1915, he was educated at the Sheffield Pupil Teacher Centre; and served in the Royal Army Service Corps during World War II.〔(London Gazette )〕 When peace returned he studied at St Aidan’s Theological College and was ordained in 1947.
